The founder, Jim Garus, is a Vietnam Veteran who believes in supporting American workers and their companies. Jim entered the safety business in 1991 working with Portland Glove Company as an Independent Franchise Operator. When the opportunity arose, Jim expanded his business, his territory, and his product line. He established American Glove Company in 1994. His staff at the time included himself, his wonderful wife Judy, and eventually two of his boys, Toby and Micky, and their families. They stored gloves in every available space on their small family farm. Animals had to be moved many times as the barns quickly filled with gloves and safety products as the inventory grew!
Since then, American Glove Company has expanded its staff. In 2008 they built a 16,000 sq. foot warehouse in Dallas, Oregon, to accommodate the growing business. American Glove Company employs a diverse group of amazing people, including dedicated full-time positions accommodating people with special needs. The company has won various business community awards, and awards from Garten Services for their dedication to working with the special needs community and exceptional services.

We are happy to seek out manufacturing companies outside of China for superior products and American-friendly ideology, that reflect closer to our American values. We are happy to have a “USA Made” product line available for our customers, and we are constantly working to expand the American-made products we can offer.
